This brand new role in a digital marketing agency, with a difference, has arisen due to continued growth and a roster of international clients.

The agency offers unique digital marketing services using a number of marketing platforms that get straight to the consumer, delivering effective results. These platforms accelerate growth from day one. The business works in a data-driven manner, providing faster interactions and continuous improvement. 

Due to continued growth, they need an experienced, ambitious Content Manager to join the team in Glasgow and help them realize their ambitions for 2021.

 

The Role

You will be focused on an Investment News website primarily focussed on users in North America. Currently undergoing a strategy refresh, significant investment is being made into transforming this website into a fast-moving, high traffic media centre for the retail investor.

The Content Manager will be responsible for all site content, working alongside the website marketing team to plan and deliver the content strategy, including the creation and collation of topical and contemporary content and other thought leadership pieces.

In this proactive role, the Content Manager will research the market in order to source recommendations for new content ideas that will help deliver the message as well as briefing content writers on desirable articles and managing their workflows.

Managing content operations will be key and fostering good relations with a team of freelance writers is fundamental for this project, so good communication and a bright personality are expected.

You will ideally be coming from a financial background, but want to sink your teeth into a project where you can make a real change.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and help shape the content strategy and writing style across owned channels.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the product, service and associated revenue drivers.
  • Manage the content planning and delivery process, including research, ideation, copywriting, creating content briefs, proofreading and editing commissioned copy in-line with compliance guidelines and site style guide.
  • Setup, publishing and merchandising content assets via CMS and other systems.
  • Manage a small team of writers ensuring all content is of the required standard, and in line with the wider content objectives.
  • Become a storyteller by creating compelling content that shows thought leadership.
  • Oversee content budget spend and provide accurate financial reporting.
  • Utilise analytics data and other insights to support the delivery of growth in revenue, audience and user engagement.
  • Support the forecasting process and internal/external business performance updates.
  • Provide clear analyses to senior management and translate those findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Develop and monitor measurements, highlighting trends and explaining the causes of unexpected variances.
  • Research the industry for competitive intelligence to improve our proposition.

Requirements

  • An exceptional writer, with exposure to creating content for websites, whitepapers, blogs, campaigns, and other content marketing assets.
  • Understanding or exposure to writing in Financial Services and the importance of compliance with industry regulations.
  • Background or some experience in the financial markets and/or investing is highly advantageous.
  • 2 years minimum experience in creating engaging written content for the web.
  • Commercially focused and results-driven with a demonstrable data-centric, analytical approach.
  • Working knowledge of SEO and content marketing best practices, trends, and techniques to improve rankings and drive traffic and repeat visitors.
  • High-level understanding of content’s role in shaping the user experience.
  • Proven track record of using data to curate and shape portfolio offerings to drive the business.
  • Experience with building strong, influential, and collaborative relationships within both internal and external teams.
  • Resourceful in finding solutions to business problems.
  • Ability to self-manage and balance multiple projects and priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
