Q1 Wrap Up

Holly ClarkWrap up Q1

End of Q1- wrap up from Chris Lowden our Technology & Digital Director

As we conclude the first quarter of 2024, I'm filled with optimism as I look ahead to the remainder of the year. While the year began with its challenges, it's one that we at Nine Twenty are proud of, marked by significant milestones achieved. Many of the predicted trends, particularly in AI and Cybersecurity, have come to fruition, validating our strategic direction.

Our team welcomed Naomi Jones towards the end of 2023, igniting our AI & Emerging Tech specialization. Naomi's integration into the team has been great, as she not only excels in placing talent locally in Scotland but also extends her reach across Europe. A big well done to Naomi on her start at Nine Twenty.

Furthermore, Freddie Barclay has been instrumental in building a new team in Madrid for one of our clients, showcasing our commitment to delivering exceptional talent solutions globally.

Just recently, we celebrated our biggest week in company history, setting the stage for a promising second quarter. Additionally, we're thrilled to announce our first Tech Talk X event scheduled for April 18th. Led by Billy Lyle, our discussion will delve into the implications of Gen AI in the workplace. We eagerly anticipate the discussion that night as well as a great presentation on Beer. We always mix business with pleasure at Nine Twenty.

In addition to our ongoing business, we're pleased to announce the acquisition of five new clients this quarter, with several others progressing towards successful partnerships in the near future.

As we embark on the next phase of our journey, I'm confident that our team's dedication, coupled with our commitment to innovation and excellence, will continue to drive Nine Twenty's success in the dynamic landscape of technology recruitment. We are definitely looking forward to the rest of 2024.

We also asked Brian (Head of Marketing at Nine Twenty) for a few words on how 2024 had a started for him.

"What a year it's been so far! We've hit some impressive numbers and welcomed four new clients onboard. But the market's still ever changing. Businesses are being more cautious with their recruitment efforts, which means it's taking longer to find the right fit. It feels a bit like before Covid, where both sides need to put in effort to make things work and there's less haste. Also, both clients and candidates are leaning towards hybrid working arrangements, wanting a mix of office and remote work to stay connected and be around others. It's going to be an interesting year ahead with what's going on beyond the Nine Twenty bubble sure to have an impact.

On another note, our first Scottish Marketing Network event was a big hit—it sold out in just four hours! We've got more events planned for the year along with some exciting projects and initiatives in the pipeline. Our goal this year isn't just to match talent with clients and jobs with candidates, but to play a key role in contributing to, and moving the sector forward.

Keep an eye out for Nine Twenty Marketing and Digital this year!

Best,

Brian"
