Freelance UI/UX Designer
Remote | Freelance Project
A growing retail-tech organisation is seeking a Freelance UI/UX Designer to lead the design of a new platform that displays real-time in-store inventory across multiple retail sectors. The product builds on an existing sister platform but requires a redesigned user experience to support broader product categories, advanced filtering and discovery-led browsing.
What You’ll Do

Rebrand and redesign the consumer web app, adapting the structure from an existing platform while introducing new category and discovery features

Design a hierarchy including Location, Search and Filter, Categories, Discovery Zones and Store Cards

Develop scalable category and filtering systems suitable for diverse retail types
-
Create Discovery Zone journeys for promotions, ads, seasonal content, surveys and campaigns

Refine store-level user flows with retail-specific discovery areas and featured items
-
Apply updated branding and UX improvements to the retailer console MVP

Support navigation, login, notifications, insights and data-status interfaces, aligned with existing standards
What You’ll Bring

Strong experience designing modern web applications

Confidence delivering complex filtering, taxonomy and discovery-based UX

Understanding of multi-step consumer journeys and retail-style app patterns

Ability to extend and apply a consistent brand identity across multiple touchpoints

Comfort working with existing platform structures and enhancing them
Desirable

Experience designing marketplace, aggregator or on-demand platforms

Familiarity with retail, e-commerce or location-based UX
-
Experience with B2B dashboards, consoles or MVP product delivery

Understanding of mapping and navigation interfaces
