Our manufacturing client are looking for a a Technical Quality Assistant to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. 

This is an entry level role so we would consider candidates at graduate level to help and support in the Quality & Technical department.

Purpose of the role:

  • Ensuring the site meets its desired efficiency levels in respect to customer and business expectations.
  • Have a clear understanding of production capability and how these relate to material specifications
  • Strong alignment with production, with around 80% of time spent on the factory floor.
  • Assist the Quality & Technical Engineer in executing technical strategy through completing wide range of actions from packaging and sending out samples to suppliers and customers, to coordinating production trials and testing.

Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate all production trials and testing for product and process developments
  • Produce standard trial and testing reports for the Quality & Technical Engineer
  • Be ‘hands on’ in the production factory, applying process and material expertise to support the resolution of process and raw material challenges
  • Support adoption of optimum packing specifications for transportation
  • Raise and record feedback from production trials
  • Support the maintenance of technical procedures and specifications
  • Support improvement projects, such as new tooling or materials
  • Apply process and material expertise to assist the Quality & Technical Engineer in supporting the wider business functions on various developments. In particular, support the Customer Service team during the analysis of customer briefs or the execution of complex change/new business projects

Qualifications:

  • Good level of high school or college qualifications is preferred
  • Qualifications that relates to materials, engineering or technical disciplines would be beneficial

Skills:

  • Ability to apply ‘lateral thinking’
  • Strong Technical interpretation skills
  • Demonstrable experience of exposure to Quality/Technical functions, ideally in a dynamic, fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working in the premium drinks industry advantageous
  • Experience within the print, paper and packaging industry would be advantageous
  • Problem Solving techniques
  • Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Excel and other MS office applications.
  • Excellent communication, briefing and presentation skills
