Nine Twenty are delighted to work with their existing client who have an exciting opportunity for a Technical and Operational Purchaser (12 Months Fixed Contract) in Falkirk/Bonnybridge. You will be a part of a global team supporting the primary business goals.

        

         As the Technical and Operational Purchaser, you will possess the following:

  • Relevant experience in a Purchasing or Buyer role
  • SAP Experience Essential
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong administrative skills, including computer literacy and document control
  • Experience of Microsoft Office
  • The ability to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • The ability to work cooperatively in a fast paced environment

 

          The main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Actively drive down costs by regular reviewing / renegotiation of existing supplier prices and contracts.
  • Identification of new suppliers
  • Negotiation with suppliers
  • Order administration of relevant purchase orders in the existing ERP system (SAP experience is key for the role!)
  • Monitoring of price relevant factors to protect against potential price increases and make use of potential prices decreases
  • Plan and purchase inventory and logistics for the purchasing and supply of all stock and non-stock items.
  • Maintain strategic partnerships with a network of suppliers to guarantee supply of quality stock and non-stock items, to the required specification and at a competitive price
  • Avail of RHIM preferred supplier deals where possible.
  • Report information on purchasing as per targets and deliver on agreed annual savings.
  • Assure regular purchasing reporting
  • Compile and analyse actual spend for the purchasing function versus budget.
  • Work with production and maintenance departments to prioritise requirements and to manage inventory levels, in line with working capital requirements,
  • Develop knowledge of the working machinery of the plant and process to understand the importance of the spare parts/Raw Material requirements
  • Implement and follow the RHIM purchasing policy and procedures
