Nine Twenty's client is now recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Planner to join their successful Projects Team based in Livingston. The overall purpose of the role is to provide support to the Projects management team and the wider business unit, in developing project programmes as led by the client’s scope and progression through design into construction.

Reporting directly to the Contracts Delivery Manager, you will produce accurate weekly and monthly updates on the p6 portfolio for the wider business and ensure programs capture delays and early warnings signs adhering to client requirements under contract.  You will also be responsible for creating tender programs, liaising with the Pre-Construction team throughout the bid process and maintaining project schedules and portfolio, ensuring programs are fully resource loaded throughout the project life cycle.

How you will make a difference:

  • Develop realistic construction programmes from inception through to site readiness, liaise with construction and commissioning teams to ensure construct ability
  • Prepare and manage portfolio programme, utilising Primavera 6, follow up with monthly reports based on portfolio programme performance
  • Generate S-curves, assist in preparing programmes, cash flow and manpower histograms for tenders
  • Updating of the project plans including: activity updates, resource updates, financial updates and creating project programme reports
  • Verify critical path and interfaces between design/procurement/execution
  • Monitor progress periodically and compare with Baseline planning
  • Evaluate allocation of resources and provide recommendations to maintain required progress
  • Display an appropriate level of Change Control that will maximise value recovery that is required by the business unit
  • Support queries raised relating to the tender and construction programmes
  • Analyse gaps between the planned and actual progress and highlight the areas of concern which required action
  • Prioritisation of and reporting to the Project Managers the status of current and fore-caste projects
  • Line management responsibilities of the Project Planners
  • Developing and mentoring the Project Planners
  • Assist in maintaining the KPI’s

What you will bring:

  • HND/HNC in an Engineering or Construction discipline
  • Competent in P6 Primavera planning
  • Experience of MS Project and MS Excel software is desirable
  • Minimum of 6 years work relevant experience is preferable
  • Previous experience leading a team of Project Planners
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Understanding of NEC forms of contract
  • Understanding of water and waste water industry and processes would be advantageous
