An excellent opportunity to join our client's civils team based at their Glasgow office on a permanent full time basis.
Our client are a leading consultancy who deliver major development and infrastructure projects, creating better places within communities, focus on adding value and effective planning.
The right candidate will be involved in delivering from concept right through to construction of a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects, from roads and highways improvements schemes, large mixed-use, residential or commercial / industrial projects through to city centre regeneration schemes.
Responsibilities and duties of the role:
- To prepare plans and drawings at all stages of the development cycle in the areas of civil engineering, utilities, transport and hydrology
- Producing design drawings for technical approvals and construction
- Design of Earthworks, Highways, Pavement and Drainage and the preparation of the associated specifications
- Liaise with Local Authorities and other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals
- 3D Earthworks Modelling
- Supervising & mentoring junior team members
- Liaise with clients & professionals on all relevant aspects of projects
- Assist during the implementation stage, including site monitoring
Experience and qualifications required:
- Minimum Degree level in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification and ideally working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Proven experience of producing roads and highway designs and specifications in accordance with DMRB and local authority standards and guidelines.
- Have extensive experience in the use of AutoCAD, Civils3D and / or MX, AutoTrack
- Demonstrable experience in the delivery of projects to time and budget
- Effective communication, verbal & written skills at all levels
- Computer literate in MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm
