My client is a leading drinks manufacturing organisation who have ambitious growth plans Globally and premiumisation is a key part of the growth journey and they are looking to add additional resource into their busy quality department to support on this area. The key aspects of the role include:

  • To manage and continually improve quality assurance system for premium products
  • Manage the processes to support the quality of products and manufacturing processes
  • Monitor and report on the site Quality KPIs
  • Ensure that the company premium portfolio meets market expectations
  • Ensure new premium products are developed consistent with the required Global Quality Standards

 

The successful person will have high standards and strong attention to detail, coupled with the ability  to collaborate with internal departments and build key relationships across the business. Your communication style is important in this role as you will work closely on production lines, with NPD. Procurement, Marketing departments, suppliers and customers across the World so it is important you can discuss, challenge and sell with charm. Problem solving will be something you are strong in and being creative with how things can be done differently is something the client is looking for. Being able to multi-task and work on various projects at anyone time is also a key requirement. 

Your main duties in the role will include: 

  • Ensure that at the earliest stage of design, all requirements and risks for quality and performance are adequately addressed for all requirements and risks.
  • Conduct technical reviews of supplier and factory capabilities to ensure that designs are appropriate.
  • Maintain supplier engagement by building robust relationships.
  • Assist in the development of technical specifications, quality requirements and manufacturing specifications appropriate for the development of premium packaging formats and ensure that they are agreed and signed off.
  • Conduct incoming verification of newly developed premium materials. Report results and follow up on any required actions.
  • Support of Global Brand Standards for all newly developed premium products and ensure that standards are clearly communicated to manufacturing teams in advance of any trial/commissioning of new products.
  • Organize and where necessary conduct inspections of Dry Goods destined for use in premium products. Record photographically the intermediate and finished products.
  • Respond to market complaints on luxury products, determine the basic cause and initiate corrective actions
  • Promotes Continuous Improvement in all areas of the business, showing a proactive approach
  • Ensure use of data is established to drive the next improvement
  • Sharing and adoption of learning from other facilities (internal and external benchmarking, etc.).
  • Maintain the success of the overall plant operation by empowering employees to meet the safety, quality, and production requirements. 
  • Effectively manage food safety risks, support internal department to fully adhere to current practices
  • Ensure quality issues both internal and external are dealt with in a timely manner, to assist in protecting and improving brand image.
  • Quality actions, Non-conformances, Supplier Non-Conformances, Complaints, are on track to agreed targets

 

The client is looking for someone with following skills and experience: 

  • Extensive’ experience in a Quality role (FMCG preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships cross functionally.
  • Strong experience in supplier management
  • Demonstrable project management skills.
  • Knowledge of the manufacture of components, and in supplier production processes with a premium component bias.
  • Experience of quality assuring premium and luxury products
  • Understanding and experience of Production and Packaging Processes, Experience in a customer facing role and knowledge of customer expectations in the premium and luxury sector
  • Logical and analytical with an ability to bring forward new and previously unconsidered theories or suggestions. Thinking both inside and outside the box.
  • Innovative individual with ability to influence and guide others at all levels within the company structure.  
  • Collaborative worker and intellectual problem solver.
