Great opportunity to join a leading drinks manufacturing organisation who are investing and growing their Scottish sites, they are now seeking a Quality Assistant to help develop and maintain technical specifications for packaging components and finished products, to assist in the development and approval of new materials and products, to liaise with and host visits from auditors and customers, to assist in monitoring the quality of incoming raw materials and liaise with suppliers as necessary, to ensure that key pieces of equipment used to monitor quality and integrity, are calibrated within a timescale which ensures product compliance, support the line teams to carry out investigations into issues and non-conformances, identifying root causes and putting in place corrective actions as necessary, Engage, support and deliver business improvements aligned to the strategy, vision and excellence systems
Main Functions (accountabilities):
- Maintenance of technical specifications
- Operations monitoring and reporting
- Calibration of equipment and maintaining records
- Document audits and improvement
- Prepare for and undertake internal and external audits
- Provide administration support for the Quality and Risk team
- Help support the maintenance of the internal audit programme
- Take ownership of select external accreditations
Experience/Skills Required
- Experience of working in a food and drink manufacturing environment would be advantageous
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Use of analytical equipment, typically density meter, colour meter, distillation equipment
- PC Knowledge, Microsoft applications, and SAP
- Working knowledge of packaging equipment
- Internal Audit trained
