Implementation Project Manager – HR, Payroll & Finance Systems | Hybrid, Glasgow
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established Scottish organisation delivering essential care and support services, currently undertaking a major Business Improvement Programme to modernise its core HR, payroll, finance and rostering platforms.
Following a successful supplier selection process, our client is now looking for an experienced Implementation Project Manager to lead Stage 3 of the programme — taking the selected platform live across HR, payroll, finance and rostering in phases, without disrupting frontline service delivery.
The role
This is a hands-on delivery and control role. You'll direct the implementation partner and software supplier against the agreed scope, own configuration and data decisions, and be accountable for the go-live and stabilisation of each phase. You'll report to the Executive Sponsor and be accountable to the Steering Group, working closely with process owners across Finance, HR, Payroll and Operations.
Key responsibilities
You'll own the detailed implementation plan and cutover strategy across all phases; manage the implementation partner and supplier against the statement of work, including change control and milestone acceptance; run the design authority for configuration decisions; lead data migration from extract through to reconciliation and sign-off; own the test strategy including parallel payroll running; manage go/no-go decisions and business continuity at each cutover; and drive adoption of new ways of working across a dispersed, multi-site workforce.
What we're looking for
- Full lifecycle delivery of at least one finance or HR/payroll implementation through to live running and stabilisation
- Direct experience of a payroll go-live, including parallel running and statutory reporting
- Proven management of an implementation partner or software supplier against a statement of work
- Hands-on experience of data migration, reconciliation and formal business sign-off
- Experience of phased, multi-module deployments
- Working knowledge of finance, payroll and HR processes
- Confidence managing senior stakeholders and holding suppliers to account
Desirable
- Social care, health or charity sector background
- Rostering or workforce management implementation experience
- Experience with multi-entity or restricted funding reporting
- A formal delivery method (PRINCE2, APM, Agile) applied proportionately
