Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are proud to be supporting our client’s successful Scottish Manufacturing business who now have a New opportunity for a Production Manager.

The production Manager will deliver Manufacturing targets throught the effective management, development and coaching of a multifunctional team. Continously improve manufacturing processes, team engagement and staff involvement.

 

Key Duties

  • Improve overall customer experience through improved service levels, effective 5S execution and adherence to the ISO standard
  • Establish and facilitate departmental procedures which in turn enhance the production and efficiency of the department, while supporting safety policies and procedures
  • Effectively develop team members using situational leadership and performance management tools to ensure employees’ potential is achieved
  • Drive continuous improvement activities across the stream delivering productivity in a safe and effective manner while maintaining product quality
  • Implement, oversee and control the production schedule
  • Supervise, review and revise crew scheduling, if required
  • Oversee and review time and attendance of staff, as well as vacation approvals
  • Monitor and regulate staffing needs to ensure optimum staffing levels are supporting business demands
  • Analyse production, quality control and budgetary outcome of projects
  • Audit all personnel PPE requirements and needs
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between departments for job completion
  • Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
  • Monitor and schedule orientation and other training for new and existing employees in conjunction with Health and Safety

 

Key Skills

  • Proven experience in production management
  • Ability to communicate openly, honestly and effectively with subordinates’ peers, managers and senior leaders
  • Must be able to inspire and energise those around them with an optimistic positive approach to change
  • Driven to build customer allegiance through analysing the needs of both internal and external customers and by identifying an acting on customer opportunities
  • Identifying and acting on customer improvement opportunities
  • Able to get the best out of employees through effective coaching and performance management
  • An inquisitive nature with a passion for the manufacturing industry and where there is an opportunity and the confidence to challenge current processes or thoughts
  • Level-headed approach to a challenging, ever changing environment where priorities routinely change, and demands can require quick thinking and on the spot problem solving
  • Practices self development and champion’s employee development and growth. Can create a strong coherent vision for their team
  • Manager should be able to understand and communicate the impact of this continuous improvement on customer satisfaction and business growth
  • Must be able to consider multiple options when making decisions and incorporates contingency planning and data analysis to the decision making process
