Nine Twenty are assisting our Global client in their need for a Packaging Procurement Manager to join their team on a full time and permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be part of a small team and bring a wealth of knowledge to this newly created role.
The role:
- The Sourcing Manager is part of the EMEA Procurement function and is responsible for all prestige packaging sourcing requirements for Scotland.
- The job holder has part responsibility for ensuring efficient sourcing on a range of packaging at an international & global level
- There is a need to act as a company ambassador, working to build key relationships between the Supplier and client. There is also a need at times to travel globally and to spend additional time working away from home.
Responsibilities:
- Development and management of sourcing strategies for prestige packaging
- Carry out appropriate sourcing arrangements with existing & new suppliers
- Support of regional and Global Procurement function
- Maintain a register of all contacts and suppliers
- Negotiate & implement robust agreements
- Look for new initiatives, innovation & continuous improvement
- Participate in supplier review meetings with key suppliers.
- Work in conjunction with the Procurement Manager to ensure a robust vendor approval process
Skills required:
- Experience in procurement and direct negotiation with working knowledge of legal terms and conditions and constructing agreements.
- Fundamental knowledge of the Supply Chain & the impact that procurement has on it through having experience in an FMCG environment.
- Experienced Negotiator.
- Knowledgeable and experienced on all types of packaging especially on prestige packaging sourcing.
- Numerate, logical, analytical approach.
- Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence others within the business and develop partnerships with internal stakeholders.
- Enthusiastic and approachable manner with a pro-active, can-do attitude.
- Capable of planning and organising a diverse workload, whilst managing ever changing priorities.
- Project management skills: manage projects from brief to completion.
- Committed to continual improvement in processes, performance and personal development.
- Able to work independently and within a team environment, pro-active, customer focused and take ownership of work, is proactive and thinks beyond the given task.
- Working knowledge & experience in all aspects of the Purchase to Pay cycle, SAP
