Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be working with our Dundee & Angus based client who are looking for a Packaging Machinist/Team Leader to join their growing Production team on a full time and permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible in motivating, managing and controlling the running of the Kolbus Production Equipment ensuring all team members are achieving KPI's.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership and motivation to team members, setting high standards, quality and behaviour
  • Monitoring behaviour and performance of team members
  • Carrying out quality checks at the beginning and end of the line - incoming materials and end of line clearance 
  • Carrying out material checks ensuring counted and labelled
  • Allocating tasks to other team members 
  • Ensure that all Quality documentation and timesheets are completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensure Production Team are aware of performance targets and achieving these 
  • Carrying out product quality checks 
  • Managing line breakdowns and reporting to the Production Team Leader 
  • Following Health & Safety Standards  
  • Complete external and internal training programmes 
  • Changing of equipment in a timely manner  
  • Be able to use the pallet wrapper as and when required.
  • Ensure that all machines and equipment are maintained to proper standard 
  • Accurately document and record information on the Job Control Sheets
  • Act as link between the Line Coordinator and employees on the line.
  • Adhere to company absence and timekeeping policies
  • Ensure that all team members are complying with Workwear standards and PPE requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Development 

  • Demonstrable good leadership skills with the ability to lead a team and support individuals
  • Good communication and interpersonal and people management skills
  • Good understanding of processes and machines used within the production environment
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in the manufacturing environment
  • Ability to react quickly and adapt to change on a daily basis
  • Knowledge of V2 and good level of computer literacy
  • Good standards of written record keeping
