Nine Twenty are proud to be working in Partnership with The North British Distillery with an exciting new role for a Manufacturing Engineering Planner for their large Distillery in Edinburgh.

You will have the chance to work with one of Scotland's oldest and largest Scotch grain whisky producers. The North British Distillery is known for its distillation and maturation processes, producing grain spirit, which serves as the base for blended whisky.

Reporting directly to the Site Engineering Manager, it would be a great chance to contribute to the success of a prominent distillery while advancing your own career in the engineering field.

You will be responsible for assisting the North British Engineering Team and maximising the availability of all assets, whilst maintaining & improving their original performance, managing costs and resources within agreed budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all planning activities on site are performed in accordance with work instructions ensuring adherence to company Health, Safety & Environmental compliance
  • Maintaining awareness of regulatory and company standards such as HMRC, COMAH and H&S – you will regularly act as an on-scene controller in the event of an evacuation or major incident and participate in COMAH improvement activity – you will also be part of the Emergency Response Rota
  • You will be responsible for the use of CMMS (MAXIMO)
  • You will coordinate and plan engineering maintenance activities through MAXIMO to drive effectiveness and efficiencies
  • You will work with the Engineering department to agree and deliver Effective Asset Care Plan of the Distillery
  • You will lead & influence various individuals from all functions within the site to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency
  • You will be responsible for allocating resource and skills to activities within the team
  • You will coordinate work plans to hit KPI targets such as:
    • PPM schedules
    • Weekly success rate of 100% priority 1’s
    • Individual craftsmen weekly job completion of 100%
    • Statutory inspection compliance via planned maintenance system

Skills & experience required:

  • You must be a proactive, motivated and supportive individual with experience in maintaining service for focussed improvement efforts with an emphasis on achieving sustainable developments. Confident in liaising regularly with all internal stakeholders, in particular the site management team, to ensure ongoing coordination between engineering and other areas of the business.
  • Time served/degree qualified engineer
  • Strong PC skills with ability to interpret complex data using IT systems
  • Strong CMMS user experience
  • Experience in performing isolations
  • IOSH Managing safely or ability to work towards
  • Working knowledge of HSE Legislation
  • Experienced in Permit to Work Systems, Risk Assessments & Method Statements
