Nine Twenty Technology are delighted to be recruiting a IT Systems Developer for their client in Edinburgh city centre.
The IT Systems Developer role has been created due to the emergence of new services that our client is developing for the demand side response market. They require a number of messaging interfaces to be developed to integrate core systems with 3rd party systems in a relatively short period of time.
The Role:
The role primarily involves the design and development of enterprise messaging interfaces using a mix of technologies to meet interface specifications that are currently being written.
You will also participate in the interface specification work and document your work to a high standard.
You will work within the IT Systems team and report to the IT Systems Manager as both your line and technical manager.
Core duties will include:
- Participation in defining and writing interface specifications
- Design, development and release of machine to machine enterprise messaging interfaces
- Documentation of the solution design & operational troubleshooting guides
About you:
- To be a successful candidate you must be an experienced software engineer with the following experience
- A degree in a technical subject such as maths, computing, engineering or similar.
- A minimum of 2 years industrial experience as a developer of enterprise messaging applications
- A strong sense of security awareness.
- Full project lifecycle experience is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent presentation and documentation skills.
- Enthusiasm and self-motivation with a strong interest in demand side management and smart grid development.
Technical Experience:
- Enterprise Messaging Architectures
- Python
- SQL (preferably MS SQL Server)
- Systems Integration
- Flow-based programming, preferably using DigitalRoute MediationZone (desirable)
