Head of Warehousing & Logistics

Nine Twenty Procurement & Supply Chain is delighted to support our FMCG client in recruiting a Head of Warehousing and Logistics.  In line with significant year-on-year growth, they have ambitious plans to make their business leaner, faster and more effective.  This role will enhance the strategic focus of the business around Warehouse & Logistics Operations, directly impacting overall business performance.

 

As Head of Warehousing & Logistics, you will report directly to the Manufacturing Director. You will be accountable for designing an effective organisation structure and leading and developing the team. 

 

You will have four main areas of responsibility:

 

  • Be Responsible for the Function and Build Organisational Capability – to lead the teams engaged in the receipt, storage, processing of dry goods, the storage, despatch planning and shipment of all finished goods to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Strategy Development & Improvements – to lead the development of a warehousing and logistics strategy that designs and implements infrastructure and process. 
  • Health & Safety – to ensure that all safety, internal, group and regulatory, requirements are satisfied – you will be responsible for the management of FLT and HGV pedestrian interactions associated with our operations.
  • Sustainability & Reliability – to ensure that the targets for S&R, including waste handling/management and carbon associated with site activities, including local logistics are met. You will drive the inbound and outbound logistics element of the S&R agenda to reduce the CO2 emissions (Scope 3) by 50% by 2030.

 

This role could be right for you if you:

  • Have significant knowledge and experience in Supply Chain Operations and associated business systems along with experience in leading operational Supply Chain teams and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative and business requirements.
  • Have strong leadership skills and demonstrable experience in driving high performance.
  • Are skilled in implementing effective continuous improvement and change management solutions that deliver significant business impact.
  • Are financially and commercially aware and skilled in control techniques and effective use of budgetary systems.
  • Have extensive knowledge in the application of HMRC, QSHE, HACCP, CoMAH and ISO standards.
