Glen Turner is the Scotch whisky division of La Martiniquaise, France’s second-largest spirits group, founded in 1934 and ranked among the world’s top‑10 spirit companies. Established in 1981 to oversee Scotch whisky operations, the Glen Turner Company now manages two iconic distilleries: the Starlaw grain distillery in Bathgate (opened 2010) and the Speyside-based Glen Moray in Elgin
The Bathgate site, part of La Martiniquaise’s Label 5 First Blending Company, is a fully integrated production powerhouse. Their brands include Glen Turner single malt whiskies and key blended Scotch brands such as Label 5, Cutty Sark, and Sir Edward’s. The Glen Turner single malts consistently earn international awards—most recently Gold at IWSC 2022 and Silver at World Whiskies 2021
The company have been investing across the Glen Turner sites significantly and the CAPEX plans continue to strengthen their ambition to grow.
They are now seeking a General Manager to lead the teams through the next phase of their growth strategy.
Position Summary
This pivotal role leads operations at two prestigious whisky production sites, Glen Turner (grain) and Glen Moray (malt). You will direct end-to-end operations, champion continuous improvement, and uphold their high standards of quality, sustainability, and safety. As a senior leader managing over 200 employees, you will ensure operational excellence while supporting strategic growth in line with global market demands.
Some of the responsibilities include:

- Lead and optimise daily production across both distilleries (distillation, maturation, bottling, logistics).
- Deliver top-tier quality while driving cost efficiency and strong safety compliance.
- Oversee integrated operations including HR, finance, procurement, and supply chain.
- Implement strategic plans and KPIs aligned to business goals.
- Spearhead capital investment, site development, and long-term operational strategy.
- Manage budgets, forecasting, and cost-control activities.
- Cultivate a performance-driven culture grounded in accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide direction, mentorship, and development opportunities for site leaders and teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the French head office and international entities.
- Ensure full adherence to safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Represent Glen Turner externally—to regulators, industry associations, and local communities.
