Senior Business Analyst (DRaaS / BaaS)

Type: Contract, initial 3 to 6 months
The opportunity
A well-established cloud consultancy is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join its team on a contract basis. You will work with the customer’s stakeholders to understand what they need from the business and technology they rely on. You will then turn that into clear, prioritised requirements that give delivery teams a solid foundation to build on. This is a client-facing role for someone who is confident running workshops, bringing different stakeholders together and communicating clearly at every level.
What you will be doing
- Leading requirements discovery for the DRaaS and BaaS project, running workshops and interviews with customer business and technical stakeholders
- Understanding the customer’s current backup and disaster recovery landscape, including pain points, risks and gaps
- Capturing and agreeing recovery objectives (RTO and RPO), service levels, data retention, security and compliance needs
- Carrying out or supporting business impact analysis to identify critical systems and prioritise recovery
- Documenting functional and non-functional requirements in a clear, prioritised and traceable format
- Managing stakeholder expectations, resolving conflicting requirements and securing sign-off
- Working closely with the consultancy’s architects, technical teams and the customer throughout
What you will bring
- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst, ideally on infrastructure, cloud or IT service projects
- Strong requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation skills
- A working understanding of disaster recovery, backup and business continuity concepts, including RTO and RPO
- Confident client-facing communication, with experience facilitating workshops and engaging senior stakeholders
- Excellent written communication and the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences
- Experience with prioritisation techniques such as MoSCoW, and with process mapping and modelling
Desirable
- Hands-on knowledge of DRaaS, BaaS or cloud-based recovery platforms
- Familiarity with resilience, security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 22301, ISO 27001 or Cyber Essentials
- Consulting experience
- BA certification such as BCS or IIBA
