Procurement Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of procurement within a forward-thinking, values-led business. Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain, you'll lead the team and build out a modern, category-led strategy that balances cost, quality, innovation, and ESG commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
-
Lead, coach and develop a collaborative procurement team aligned to business goals and personal growth

Define and implement a category-led procurement strategy that delivers commercial value, quality assurance, and responsible sourcing

Embed supplier diversity, sustainability, and innovation into every aspect of the sourcing approach
Supplier & Category Management
-
Build strategic partnerships with key suppliers, underpinned by SLAs, KPIs, and improvement goals
-
Introduce and manage supplier segmentation and risk models
-
Lead pricing negotiations, value engineering, and cost-saving programmes
-
Develop ethical sourcing frameworks including onboarding, compliance, and ESG checks
Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing

Align procurement activities with ESG goals (including Scope 3 emissions reduction)
-
Integrate supplier sustainability scorecards and lead reporting on responsible sourcing metrics
-
Work with suppliers on packaging reduction, circularity, and waste minimisation
Governance & Process Excellence

Own and improve procurement policies, systems, and audit readiness
-
Ensure accurate procurement data to support internal and external reporting
-
Champion the use of digital tools and data to support decisions and transparency
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Finance, NPD, Marketing, Technical and Packaging to bring products to market

Be the commercial voice in innovation, operational and sustainability discussions
What You’ll Bring
Experience & Skills
-
5+ years in procurement leadership or senior category roles (FMCG or manufacturing preferred)
-
Track record in building category strategies and improving supplier performance
-
Commercially sharp with excellent negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
-
Confident in complex environments — multi-site, global supply chains, regulatory considerations
-
Analytical and data-driven, comfortable making evidence-based decisions
Mindset
-
Proactive and solutions-focused
-
Passionate about ethical sourcing and sustainability
-
Calm under pressure and able to shift between strategic and hands-on when needed
Nice to Have
-
Degree qualified and/or CIPS (or working towards)
-
Experience using ERP/MRP systems and procurement platforms
-
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or CI methodologies
-
Full UK driving licence
