This is an anonymous client engagement. Contractors can be based anywhere in the UK.

Role Overview

You will act as a senior technical authority within the migration programme, designing AWS architectures and supporting the build, automation, and optimisation of cloud environments using Terraform and Ansible. Working alongside engineering and project teams, you’ll ensure the target cloud environment is resilient, compliant, and migration-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and guide the build of Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform (modules, reusable patterns).

  • Implement and refine configuration automation using Ansible.

  • Contribute to the migration strategy and assist with workload transition planning.

  • Conduct architecture reviews, produce documentation, and uphold best practices across the cloud estate.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security, compliance, and operational readiness.

  • Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight throughout the migration lifecycle.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience as an AWS Architect delivering large-scale or complex cloud solutions.

  • Strong hands-on expertise with Terraform.

  • Practical experience with Ansible for automation and configuration.

  • Solid understanding of AWS networking, IAM, security controls, and landing zone patterns.

  • Experience in enterprise-scale migration projects.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to regulated industries (e.g., chemical, pharmaceutical, utilities).

  • Knowledge of CI/CD tooling and DevOps workflows.

  • Familiarity with cloud governance frameworks and best practice security architectures.

What’s on Offer

  • Fully remote UK engagement.

  • Opportunity to work on a high-impact migration programme in a scientific/industrial sector.

  • Competitive day rate and strong likelihood of extension.

  • Engagement through a reputable technology services partner.
