We are supporting our client, a leading manufacturing organisation with an impressive portfolio and a true global presence. They have a rare opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join their busy and fast-paced site in Glasgow. This is a varied and hands-on role requiring excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Maintenance Area Leader to deliver the Bottling Maintenance programme, focusing on planned maintenance execution, corrective work order management, and overhaul execution to drive plant reliability.

  • Developing and optimising cost-effective maintenance programmes for manufacturing and distribution assets (both electrical and mechanical).

  • Evaluating and improving maintenance schedules using continuous improvement tools such as Root Cause Analysis to reduce downtime and increase efficiency.

  • Ensuring maintenance tasks meet required standards for both internal and external works.

  • Acting as the lead co-ordinator for escalation of maintenance or breakdown support with OEMs.

  • Working closely with Team Leaders to assess maintenance plan effectiveness and identify technical training needs.

  • Monitoring and managing technical budgets and identifying alternative spare parts to minimise spend.

  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the CMMS system to continually improve the maintenance programme.

 

Ideally candidates will have/be:

  • HNC/HND or degree in an Engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, or related field desirable).

  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment with strong working knowledge of maintenance practices.

  • Experience in planned, preventive, and corrective maintenance and CMMS systems.

  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement techniques, and reliability-centred maintenance.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills with the ability to lead and develop a team.

  • Budget management experience and understanding of spare parts optimisation.
