Project Engineer – Process

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Project Engineer to join our clients innovative distilling site in Girvan — a key location leading some of the most exciting developments in the UK drinks industry.
This role offers the chance to be involved in a wide range of impactful projects, including:

Expanding the UK’s largest grain distillery, helping to increase production capacity and improve operational efficiency.

Introducing cutting-edge technologies, including process automation, control systems, and advanced manufacturing tools.

Delivering decarbonisation and sustainability initiatives, supporting the transition to lower carbon operations and energy-efficient infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for the scoping, design and delivery of capital and special revenue projects across the Girvan site. This will include:

Delivering projects that address plant challenges, improve safety and environmental performance, and drive productivity.

Supporting the development of long-term site masterplans with budgets and justifications.

Producing detailed project concepts, requirements, and technically sound solutions.

Developing process designs including P&IDs, control philosophies, equipment specifications, and line/valve lists.

Carrying out financial analysis and business cases to support capital investment.

Managing sourcing and procurement, including tendering and supplier selection.

Overseeing the full project lifecycle — from installation and commissioning through to training, handover, and financial reporting.
About You
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings both technical rigour and a solutions-driven mindset.
You should have:

A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.

Proven project management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

A strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
