Product Development Chemist

Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing is excited to partner with our values driven manufacturing client in their search for a talented Product Development Chemist to join their team on a permanent basis.

As a Product Development Chemist, you will work closely with the Product Development Manager, contributing your technical expertise and support across various functions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with sales personnel to identify upcoming product development ventures.
  • Orchestrating and supervising plant trials with appropriate staffing levels.
  • Coordinating with Continuous Improvement and Manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product scale-up.
  • Offering technical guidance to sales, customer services, and manufacturing departments.
  • Staying updated on changes in raw materials, both in terms of performance and compliance with regulations.
  • Supervising junior staff to ensure efficient project management.
  • Ensuring thorough specifications for new and existing products and processes.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align business objectives and drive quality enhancement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree qualified in Chemistry or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience in a chemistry-oriented role, preferably within manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in product quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong decision-making skills.
  • Capacity to handle pressure and navigate setbacks effectively.
