Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are continuing to support our client who are looking for a Packaging Technologist to join their team permanently. This is a broad and hands on technical role, perfect for someone who enjoys variety and ownership in their work. You won’t be tied to just one brand – instead, you’ll manage development projects across multiple lines, working closely with marketing, operations, and external suppliers to ensure packaging is fit-for-purpose, commercially viable, and technically sound.

With an exciting new phase of development underway, the successful candidate will help drive complex packaging projects forward, particularly focusing on components such as glass, labels, closures, rigid boxes, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of new product development projects, managing packaging activities from start to finish - across the portfolio and brands 
  • Provide technical packaging expertise  to Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain Teams
  • Work across components such as glass, closures, labels, cartons, and rigid boxes.
  • Act as the first point of contact for technical support to production, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Manage packaging specifications, oversee artwork approvals, and ensure compliance with quality and operational requirements.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement and efficiency projects.
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Support the technical packaging specification management system.
  • Ensure robust KPI delivery and support cross-functional problem solving

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong technical grounding in packaging – especially across multiple components and materials.
  • Ideally, some structural experience or the willingness to learn and develop this further.
  • Previous experience working in NPD/technical packaging roles – spirits or FMCG preferred but other industries considered.
  • A proactive, organised, and collaborative approach.
  • Experience working with SAP, Adobe, or Monday.com or similar project management tools.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
