Position: Network and Infrastructure Manager

Location: Clydebank, Flexible working options available 

An exciting opportunity to join a well-established business in Clydebank, where you’ll be part of a dynamic, collaborative team and play a key role in driving IT excellence. The Network and Infrastructure Manager owns and manages all aspects of IT Network and Infrastructure Management. They oversee and direct the day-to-day activities of the IT Operations team—including Infrastructure, Security, and DevOps—ensuring that systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely. This role provides guidance and leadership to the IT department and its technicians, while also directly supporting end users by handling escalations, resolving issues, and monitoring the performance of business-critical systems to prevent delays, outages, and quickly resolve ongoing issues.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the IT Network and Infrastructure team.

  • Ensure deadlines are managed and met for all IT Network and Infrastructure projects.

  • Design, monitor, maintain, and optimize company networks, servers, and infrastructure across multiple sites and remote environments.

  • Provide technical input into IT strategy and lead projects that support implementation.

  • Oversee device and password management systems.

  • Manage data backup and system security operations (e.g. backup systems, user authorisation, firewalls).

  • Oversee installations, upgrades, and configurations of hardware and software.

  • Assess system performance and recommend improvements.

  • Ensure data is handled, transferred, and processed in line with legal and company guidelines.

  • Control costs and budgets relating to IT systems and infrastructure.

  • Work with relevant stakeholders to manage vendor contracts (e.g. development platforms, telecoms providers, password managers) and software licenses.

  • Develop IT policies and practices in line with compliance and quality requirements.

  • Ensure training and personal development plans for the IT Network and Infrastructure team are created and maintained.

  • Evaluate team performance against targets and KPIs, reporting to senior IT leadership.

  • Manage team resourcing and development to ensure sufficient capacity to support business needs.

  • Identify opportunities for automation to improve team efficiency.


Candidate Criteria: 

  • Substantial experience in IT with a strong background in network and infrastructure management.

  • Significant experience managing IT Network and Infrastructure teams in a multi-site or international organisation.

  • Hands-on experience with system installation, configuration, and analysis.

  • In-depth knowledge of networks, security, and cloud computing.

  • Strong understanding of data protection operations and legislation (e.g. GDPR).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to identify skills gaps within a team and implement development plans to address them.

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks.

  • Proven leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking ability with excellent organisational skills
