Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be supporting a leading print and media production facility near Glasgow as they look to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, multi-disciplined maintenance team within a high-performing, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Opportunity

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and efficiency of critical production machinery across press and mailroom operations. You’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and work collaboratively with engineering colleagues to minimise downtime and maximise equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned mechanical maintenance in line with procedures and engineering standards.

  • Respond to breakdowns, perform diagnostics, and deliver effective reactive repairs across press and mailroom machinery.

  • Analyse machine performance data and maintain accurate engineering documentation and maintenance records.

  • Support wider site facilities maintenance when required.

  • Collaborate with colleagues on problem-solving activities and root-cause analysis.

  • Work safely at all times, ensuring compliance with site health and safety processes.

About You

You will be an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong maintenance background, ideally within medium-to-heavy engineering or high-volume production environments.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum ONC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Time-served background in mechanical maintenance.

  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.

  • Proactive approach with the confidence to work on your own initiative.

  • Solid awareness of health & safety requirements.

Desirable

  • Experience within the newspaper/print industry (advantageous but not essential).

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a rotational shift pattern, including days, backs, and nights. The remuneration package is structured to reflect the level of responsibility and commitment required.
