Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be supporting a well-established manufacturing organisation as they look to recruit a Maintenance & Facilities Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer to join a dynamic production environment, where reliability, safety, and continuous improvement are central to operational success.
The Opportunity
As a Maintenance & Facilities Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining plant equipment and site facilities while supporting the ongoing improvement of engineering and maintenance processes. You will ensure production uptime, lead engineering problem-solving activities, and contribute to the development of efficient preventative maintenance systems across the site.
This role offers a varied workload covering plant equipment, facilities maintenance, and project work within a busy manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
Implement and continuously improve safety practices across all maintenance activities.
Develop maintenance processes to increase plant uptime and reduce overall maintenance costs.
Plan and coordinate maintenance work to ensure safe and efficient use of labour, materials, and resources.
Lead and support engineering projects, including capital equipment installations.
Maintain engineering systems and procedures in line with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Implement and manage preventative maintenance plans for plant equipment.
Support production operations by ensuring plant availability during operational hours.
Conduct critical reviews of site assets to support long-term reliability improvements.
Maintain accurate engineering records, reports, and documentation.
Host and support external audits where required.
About You
You will be a proactive and hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. With strong technical knowledge and a problem-solving mindset, you will be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with production and engineering teams.
Skills & Experience Required
HNC/HND or Apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Fully qualified Electrical Engineer (preferred).
Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong fault-finding, repair, and maintenance experience across plant machinery.
Experience working with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules.
Hands-on electrical and mechanical engineering capability.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
Experience working with contractors and managing site compliance activities.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience within printing, moulding, forming, or tool room machinery environments would be highly advantageous.
