We are supporting our client in their search for a passionate advocate for sustainability, environmental and governance of systems through innovation, influencing skills and data driven decision making. 

These roles are few and far between and this is an opportunity to work in a well established compliance and governance team across multiple sites in a business that is continually growing and developing. This is a newly created position within the business and offers real potential to make your own mark.

Key accountabilities/tasks:

• Keeping up to date with relevant environmental, governance and corporate social responsibility legislation, whilst ensuring ongoing compliance and highlighting future risks / opportunities

• Establish format to collate, analyse and communicate environmental, governance and corporate social responsibility metrics, including Sustainability Strategy and Annual Sustainability Report, in line with ESG Policy.

• Maintain the company’s waste management systems (including Packaging Waste, Producers Responsibility, EUDR, etc) to ensure accurate data and timely reporting.

• Achieve and maintain certification to ISO14000 management systems.

• Provide support and guidance for all other functions (at all levels), to continually develop environmental, governance and corporate social responsibility compliance.

• Support interactions, investigations and improvement activities with Regulators, including SEPA and Scottish Water.

• Proactively identify and take the initiative to implement opportunities for environmental and sustainability improvements.

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

▪ Degree qualified – Environmental / Sustainability

▪ Knowledge / experience with ISO14000 management systems certification and maintenance

▪ Developing and delivering environmental training

▪ Establishing, collating, analysing and reporting environmental performance data

▪ Practical experience of governance methodologies (including SOP creation, document control, internal auditing, root cause problem solving)

▪ Proficiency with IT systems, including MS Office suite

▪ Process and compliance focussed

▪ Effective communication skills to enable stakeholder management
