Engineering Team Manager
Location: Fife
Salary: circa £54k inc shift allowance
Shift: 4 on 4 off - days & nights
Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be supporting a leading food manufacturing business in Fife with the recruitment of an Engineering Team Manager.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineering leader to manage a multi-skilled team in a fast-paced FMCG environment, driving performance, safety and continuous improvement on site.
The Role
Reporting into the site leadership team, you will:

Provide direct line management to your engineering team, ensuring safe, effective working practices and ongoing development.

Plan and allocate maintenance activities and resources to maximise uptime and minimise downtime.

Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure service levels are cost-effective and well communicated.

Take responsibility for the quality of workmanship, regularly monitoring, mentoring and supporting team members.

Own Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental standards within your area, ensuring all responsibilities and regulations are met.

Promote and embed a Continuous Improvement culture, actively involving your team in projects, change programmes and food safety improvement initiatives.

Ensure a strong Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) ethos and full utilisation of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in day-to-day work.

Carry out appraisals, disciplinary meetings and career development discussions with your team.

Complete clear, concise shift reports with relevant information and follow-up actions.

Work flexibly across departments and sites when required, demonstrating a collaborative, “one team” approach.
About You
You will be an experienced engineering leader who:

Is qualified to a minimum SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.

Leads by example and can develop, motivate and manage a multi-skilled engineering team.

Has a strong understanding of Health & Safety, food safety and compliance, and ensures all working practices meet legislation and company standards.

Is comfortable managing performance, giving feedback and having difficult conversations where needed.

Has a proactive, hands-on mindset and enjoys being close to the operation.

Is a strong communicator, able to engage and influence at all levels of the business.

Has a genuine passion for coaching and developing people, building capability within the team.
