Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our client's workshop team in Dumbarton. Reporting to the Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for meeting machining and fitting requirements through efficient and effective practices while upholding safety and quality standards in compliance with company and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating CNC machining equipment, including setup and adjustment
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC machines
- Reading and interpreting engineering documentation
- Producing parts of moderate to high complexity meeting documented specifications
- Machining components using conventional and CNC machine tools
- Observing machine operation to verify accuracy of settings and detect malfunctions
- Using precision measuring instruments to control quality processes
- Recording job card hours accurately
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and operating safely in line with company health & safety policy
- Working unsupervised and adopting a flexible approach to multitasking
- Maintaining machine, tooling, and parts to ensure optimal operating condition
- Supporting the wider team and departments with ad-hoc tasks and projects
- Handling customer information in line with data protection compliance
Essential skills:
- Recognised Engineering apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification
- Operational knowledge of CNC machinery, including experience with Fanuc Controls
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
