Business Support Officer – MICM & CeeD

Location: Moray / Highlands (with travel across Highlands & Aberdeenshire)
Contract: Full-time (split role across MICM and CeeD activities)

Nine Twenty Highland are delighted to be working in collaboration with CeeD to recruit a Business Support Officer to support the successful delivery of the Manufacturing Innovation Centre Moray (MICM) and CeeD’s wider programmes across Scotland.

About CeeD

CeeD is a self-funding, not-for-profit membership organisation supporting Scotland’s manufacturing, engineering and technology sectors through peer-to-peer engagement, networking and best practice sharing. With a membership of around 200 businesses and academic institutions, and a wider active community, CeeD helps organisations tackle real operational challenges and strengthen capability through collaboration.

CeeD activity is driven by member needs and covers areas including lean techniques, facilities and maintenance, energy and waste, training, marketing, health and safety, and people development.

About MICM

The Manufacturing Innovation Centre Moray (MICM) is a new initiative where CeeD plays a key role in supporting operations and stakeholder engagement. This role will split time between MICM delivery and supporting CeeD’s core business support activities.

Purpose of the Role

To provide business support for the successful operation and impact of MICM and contribute to CeeD’s wider activities. You will coordinate events, support stakeholder engagement, manage CRM and communications activity, and help ensure smooth day-to-day operational delivery.

Key Responsibilities

MICM Support (approx. 2 days per week)

  • Act as the key CeeD point of contact for MICM partners and stakeholders

  • Engage with the local business community to promote MICM activities and opportunities

  • Support the development and coordination of events, workshops and stakeholder meetings

  • Assist with day-to-day operations, scheduling and logistics for engagement, visits, innovation projects and demonstrations

  • Support the management of equipment usage and project progress

  • Support preparation of reports for MICM stakeholders and funding bodies

CeeD Support

  • Provide coordination and administrative support for CeeD programmes, events and member communications

  • Support CRM updates, membership queries and general office tasks

  • Assist with marketing and social media activity where required

  • Help coordinate CeeDucation programmes and other initiatives

  • Represent CeeD at partner events and networking opportunities

Skills & Experience

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools (Teams, SharePoint, CRM)

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

  • Interest and awareness in engineering, manufacturing, innovation and business support (desirable)

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Strong relationship-builder, able to communicate at all levels

  • Flexible approach to travel and working hours

Key Accountabilities

  • Support promotion of CeeD and MICM to increase engagement and membership

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and stakeholder information

  • Coordinate and deliver events and workshops to a high standard

  • Provide timely reporting and updates to management

  • Ensure effective communication between MICM, CeeD and stakeholders

Additional Information

  • The role will focus on territory management across the Highlands Region and Aberdeenshire (and associated boundaries)

  • CeeD also operates a pan-Scotland specialist model, where team members may support activity nationally depending on interest and expertise
