The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) is a group of industry-led manufacturing research and development facilities with a network of partners across Scotland brought together to boost the manufacturing community.

They do this by working with manufacturing businesses of all sizes from across Scotland, the wider UK, and beyond making it easier for them to access innovative technologies and connecting them with a widespread national and international network of world-leading industry and academic experts and collaborators.
Increasing inclusivity in manufacturing
The NMIS Group's Manufacturing Skills Academy is transforming the workforce of today and tomorrow. The Manufacturing Skills Academy offers advanced manufacturing training and development opportunities for individuals at all levels of their career. The Manufacturing Skills Academy is a place for everyone in the manufacturing and engineering community to learn, and NMIS believe that no one should be overlooked regardless of status or background.
That's why, they have created a series of training programmes which will provide both employers and employees within the manufacturing sector, an opportunity to upskill or reskill into sectors where demand has increased. Their exciting new programmes are suitable for smaller manufacturing businesses that employ women and black, Asian, and minority ethnic people working in STEM who are motivated to make tangible changes to their workplace to improve inclusion and recruit more diverse talent.

Continuous Professional Development
The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland also has a number of Continuous Professional Development Courses will give you and your colleagues the skills and knowledge to successfully tackle and navigate the concept of digital manufacturing while also realising tangible benefits. The Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme has been designed in collaboration with partner organisations at the forefront of digital innovation, to meet the needs of people and manufacturing businesses throughout the country regardless of specialism.
The NMIS Group tailor their courses to suit the varying needs of different people within a manufacturing environment and cover the essentials as well as key topics such as cybersecurity, supply chain development, operational excellence, artificial intelligence, visualisation and strategy development.
