Nine Twenty have the pleasure of welcoming Neus Molina into the Technology team as their first remote recruiter. Neus has a wealth of experience within technology recruitment, and we are excited to see her utilise her industry experience within Nine Twenty. We had a chat with Neus to see how she is settling into the role.
Can you tell us a little about your background before you joined the team at Nine Twenty?
Before starting in recruitment, I studied Pedagogy, followed by HR Management and People development Master’s degree.
I have 4 years of recruitment experience, mainly IT professionals in Spain. I have also worked with industrial and automotive profiles. Before that, I was working in Educational environments with children.
The type of professionals who I look for are SW Developers (.net, Java, Node.JS, Python, Mobile, etc.), DevOps and Infrastructure Engineers, System Engineers, Architects, Scrum Masters, Managers.
I really enjoy the variety of profiles I get to recruit for.
What attracted you to working with our team?
I was looking for a company where I can improve upon my experience, whilst doing something that I know I am passionate about.
Moving to Scotland has been a big change in my life, and I needed a company where I can feel comfortable and supported.
I will be working with a different market, so it is important to have a good basis and experience for progressing.
Since the beginning of the selection process, I felt that Nine Twenty takes care of their employees and that is something I value. I was comfortable in all the interviews and it made me feel that Nine Twenty would be a good company to have a good beginning within Scotland. Moreover, Nine Twenty works with the type of vacancies that I have dealt with in Spain.
What does your role in the business involve?
My role consists of looking for the best candidates for the different opportunities that Rachael (head of delivery) or the wider technology team has available. I will be a candidate-focused recruiter who will help my colleagues with their increasing volume of vacancies.
What is your focus over the next 3 months?
I want to be productive and efficient as soon as possible. Therefore, my focus over the next 3 months will be to learn everything about Nine Twenty and their processes, and in the meanwhile search for good talent for our clients.
At the end of my first month, I would like to know all the processes within the business. If I can understand that, at the beginning of my second month I could be 100% focused on the hiring without external worries.
In my first 3 months, I will be learning about the type of candidates that our clients look for, and how to be more effective with those I interview.
My next 3 months will require 200% effort to learn all about Nine Twenty and the clients, whilst producing high-quality work.
You have just completed your first week, how was that and what have you been up to?
I have been learning how to use all the tools that Nine Twenty have, and I have been watching some webinars for online learning.
I had introduction calls with some of Rachael’s clients to get an overview of their business, and the type of candidates they look for.
It has been an introductory week where I have learned a lot of things, and there is a lot to review before starting again this week!
Tell us more about who you are out of work?
I am a simple person who likes simple things. I love to travel, one of my dreams is to travel around the world. I used to travel 2 or 3 times per year to different cities.
I love music, going to the theatre and cinema.
My favourite sport is skating, and I even brought my skates to Edinburgh!
I love Spanish food; I really miss it here in Scotland.
If I have to talk about my character, I would say I am empathetic, intuitive and a smiling person who takes her time to know people. However, when I have confidence with them, I am the type of person who helps in any way I can and I become a funnier person.
