In a newly created role, the Traffic Manager will be responsible for managing resources across its business units. The team consists of talented marketers, developers, and designers. This person will play a key part in the business and helped support continued growth.

 

The Role

The Traffic Manager will play a critical role in supporting efficient, sustainable growth to support ambitious targets in the future.  This role is the link between sales, client services, content, development, and project delivery teams as well as management and leadership across the company.

The Resource Manager will ensure everyone knows what’s going on, what’s coming next and will escalate any potential risks or blocks to the Operations Director; they will constantly monitor the delivery teams’ requirements, working with managers in adjusting and shaping the team to meet both current and forecasted future client needs, while meeting commercial targets of high resource utilization and a cost-effective resource pool.

The role will be responsible for working closely with delivery teams to monitor project health, ensure processes are being followed, resources are effectively assigned, and issues are spotted quickly and resolved.

 

The Responsibilities

  • Work with team leads in shaping effective resource planning and allocation across delivery teams; including media buying, content, design, development, and sales.
  • Liaise with Management and Leadership Teams to maintain a forecast of resource requirements for forthcoming periods.
  • Work very closely with Team Leads, project leads, and other stakeholders to identify resource gaps and proactively manage this to close them.
  • Regularly Inform Leadership of resource capacity and availability.
  • Effectively champion client needs whilst defending business process interests.
  • Monitor whether work is progressing to schedule, identify potential for overruns, and champion efficient working practices.
  • Drive resource costs down by ensuring efficiency across platforms, teams, and through enhanced communication.
  • Working across the business, overseeing weekly schedules for teams. Match requests to skillsets for optimal use of resources, being aware of the current skills and career aspirations of team members.
  • Produce and maintain internal documentation related to operational practices, processes, and policies, ensuring an innovative approach to identifying and using the appropriate resource planning platforms.

 

The Person

  • Superb negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • An ability to establish empathy in all negotiations and anticipates defuses and resolves conflicts between colleagues, clients, stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Proven experience capturing specific (skill) requirements to anticipate resource requests and the ability to identify and investigate potential challenges to assist Team Leads in ensuring mitigation solutions are in place.
  • The foresight to recommend strategies for providing adequate resources during exceptionally busy periods.
  • Experience in developing processes that support the tracking of anticipated demand and communicating capacity.
  •  The ability to identify skills gaps within and across teams and communicate a staffing strategy to Team Leads as well as Operations.
  • Proven track record and ability to identify key information, issues, and trends from operational reports and experience designing operational reports to provide further insight into business activities where required.
  • Track record in working on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously ensuring the highest standards of service and delivery.
  • Real pedigree in a traffic, resource/project management role within a project-based strategic, creative or technical agency environment.
  • Experience of working in a dynamic and fluid environment where clear structure and process may not always be a given but flexibility ensures that client expectations are met and teams within the company are clear on expectations.
