Nine twenty are now recruiting for a Test engineer to work on a permanent basis in the Dunfermline location of Scotland. 

Our client is one of the world’s leading providers of iPad-based and Portable Wifi systems.

The successful candidate will be passionate about testing, quality assurance and will ensure the delivery of dependable, robust software. As a technical test engineer you'll be confident in working with a range of clients across diverse business and technology communities, you'll apply novel techniques and tools to existing processes, you'll understand modern/enterprise agile methods and be able to apply them in a CI environment, you'll enjoy working in a team of like-minded people to get the job done focusing on the whole project.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Write and carry out testing activities to ensure the quality, reliability and security of the software.
  • Track issues and communicate issues to the development team as they occur.
  • Write and maintain all forms of technical documentation.
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality.
  • Develop scripts and automation tools to build, integrate and deploy software releases to multiple platforms.
  • Manage relationships and work between different working teams.

Skills and Experience

  • Commercial experience of software testing in an Continuous Integration environment.
  • Languages such as Javascript,  Python, SQL , bash, and other scripting languages.
  • Tools such as JIRA, Bitbucket, git, Selenium, Appium, Jenkins, Confluence,  Cucumber, Joomla,  etc.
  • Ability to understand complex technologies and explain them concisely.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated team player.
