Nine Twenty Technology are on the lookout for a Technical Writer to join a global IT firm in Scotland. Role Overview

As a Technical Writer you will work closely with development teams, testers and other writers, gathering information from various sources including stakeholders, subject matter experts and pre-release software, and producing a variety content and information deliverables. This will involve participation in the entire software development process from start to finish. In addition, working with the team this individual will contribute towards the delivery, process improvement, and on-going maintenance of the organisation’s product information offering.

Skills and experience required 

  • Experience in a technical writing environment 
  • A degree in a technical discipline 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Working understanding of object-oriented software development
    and object orientated terminology would be a great benefit 
  • Experience with authoring tools such as Mad Cap
  • Experience researching, planning, and creating technically detailed
    information content
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with and understand the varied audiences that
    material is being created for
  • Solid experience providing written or graphical information for use by
    others

Nice to haves: 

  • Knowledge/experience of Topic based content development
  • Knowledge/experience of content development in a single source
    environment
  •  understanding or interest in Information Architecture
  • Knowledge/experience of authoring tools (Madcap)
