Nine twenty are currently looking for Architect's that are excited about working with Big Data technology and Cloud technologies! This Edinburgh based organisation, who operate in the healthcare space, are an award-winning local start-up who have made a huge global impact!  

As key member of a small, flexible and agile team, you will be supporting our Product and Development Teams, creating solutions and using your problem-solving skills to overcome engineering challenges. Your role spans the entire software delivery process: from business specification to code delivery.

Salary: £50,000 -£65,000 (DOE)

You’ll be:

  • Aligning architecture to the long term direction of the business and you’ll develop an architectural roadmap to support the product roadmap
  • Helping with the transition on premise to Azure
  • Evaluating both technical opportunity and how this could be translated into business opportunity
  • Providing architectural support throughout the lifecycles of projects and products
  • Providing guidance to business on feasibility of products and features
  • Researching and providing guidance on adoption of new technologies
  • Collaborating with Product Management to find a good business and tech fit
  • Maintaining and authoring architectural documentation
  • Providing technical clarity to delivery teams and supporting them with implementation and hand over of unfamiliar solutions and technologies
  • Presenting – regularly communicating and presenting to all levels of the organisation

You’ll have:

  • Recent experience with Azure
  • Experience with an I&AM solution design
  • A proven strong theoretical and practical track record in software engineering, specifically software architecture
  • Proven experience in prototyping solutions for hand over to development
  • Recent experience in building or working with highly resilient micro service solutions in the cloud environment
  • Possession of an innovative mind-set
  • Ability to keep abreast of new and emerging technologies as well as new methodologies and design patterns
  • Be able to inspire, coach, and mentor other engineers and demonstrate a strong passion for software engineering
  • The ability to clearly articulate ideas to target audience
  • Effective stakeholder management experience, which has been proven at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other senior members of the organisation
  • Independent and self-motivated in driving development and technical process improvement
  • Ability to collate and present data to be shared at an executive level, such as proposals, reports and technical papers
