Nine Twenty Technology are looking for an experienced Platform Team Lead to join a market leading organisation whose software delivers a hospitality management system which is utilised by some of the world’s top restaurants, alongside thousands of bars, clubs, and hotels across the world. This organisation has headquarters in the Glasgow, Scotland but also operate in Singapore, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Team Leads play an important role in motivating their team, providing effective guidance and ensuring their success. You’ll be overseeing your team’s operations through the setting of clear team goals, delegation of work, and maintaining a healthy and motivating atmosphere. Working closely with the teams across the business to produce a secure, resilient, available and reliable, low-latency, zero-downtime platform by creating effective CI/CD pipelines with strong quality gates, strong monitoring, notification and response frameworks and procedures to ultimately provide customers with a secure first-class experience. You will be involved in the development of user stories, estimates and work plans for your team’s backlog
Experience required:
- Several years of hands-on experience of working on and leading a team who manage a SaaS-based, globally distributed cloud platform
- Experienced across the operational landscape including Azure, Scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Python)
- Databases and Caching (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL SQL Server, CosmosDB), Cloud Hosting Services (e.g. Kubernetes, VMSS, Serverless Functions), Windows/Linux, Security (monitoring, detection SAST, DAST, image hardening), notification & response (e.g. OpsGenie, Azure Automations),
- logging, monitoring and telemetry (e.g. prometheus, grafana, application insights, DataDog),
- Ephemeral and Immutable Infrastructure (e.g. Terraform, Packer, Ansible), DNS (e.g. DMARC,
- OctoDNS), WAF, load balancing (e.g. CloudFlare, Nginx, HAProxy, Application Gateway) [or equivalent experience in similar technologies]
- Some development experience (e.g. C# .NET/.NET Core)
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills
- Creation and management of operational playbooks
- Management of the on call rota and on call team operational development
- Proven experience in leading and managing the delivery of system development projects
- The ability to create impact, be proactive, and solve problems autonomously
- Good working knowledge of Agile Methodologies
- Good understanding of modern, distributed, cloud-based SaaS solutions
