System Administrator/Build engineer (Windows/Unix/Jenkins)
Nine Twenty are working exclusively with our Glasgow based client who are looking for a “DevOps” engineer to join their team and help support the current development/QA and IT infrastructure teams.
The Role
The successful candidate will be designing and implementing a scalable build environment and continuous integration pipeline. This includes designing and implementing build tools and software deployment systems; working with leading edge technologies like Docker, Jenkins, Conan and other modern CI tools.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Automated build, test and deployment processes for multiple concurrent releases
- Continuous integration environment
The Candidate
We are looking for a candidate with superior analytical and problem-solving skills who has experience collaborating with development groups to establish processes. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for technoloy and possess excellent oral and written communications skills. Skills and experience include the following:
Essential:
- Build/release and configuration management
- Proficient with source code management systems (Perforce)
- Continuous Integration (CI) tools (Jenkins)
- Experience with software build / installation / deployment toolsets
- Experience with web services, networking and cloud scalable solutions
- Strong ability to work independently as well as with highly cross-functional teams
Desirable:
- Applied programming skills and experience (C++, C#, JavaScript, Java, SQL, etc)
- Experience with containerization technology such as Docker, vagrant or VMware
- Unix, Linux and shell scripting skills
