Your challenge:

To collaboratively develop the most advanced mobile policing apps that provide mission critical law enforcement solutions, on the latest mobile hardware. These validated solutions need to be intuitive, robust and, most importantly, totally secure. Do you have motivation to guarantee such quality?

Your role:

Working within small stable agile teams, you will strive towards delivering world class mobile data solutions for the emergency services in the UK and beyond. Based in the Skypark office in Glasgow, you will join a small and dynamic software house which is about to undergo a significant growth phase. The product suite is built upon the latest generation of smartphones/tablets, utilizing the advanced features that they provide.

Within your role as Software Test Engineer, you will:

  • Verify and validate new systems, products and solutions
  • Write, maintain and execute Test cases
  • Develop automation suites
  • Maintain the Test and Support application environments
  • Maintain QA process documentation
  • Provide input to development teams for continual improvement
  • Validate the latest mobile devices (Android, Windows Mobile)

About you:

Essential Skills

  • Computer Science degree or equivalent
  • 1-2 years’ experience commercial software testing
  • A critical eye for detail, that challenges the status quo
  • Good written/spoken communication skills
  • Knowledge of source code management systems (i.e. SVN, CVS, SourceSafe)
  • Have experience of Defect Tracking tools (i.e. Bugzilla, JIRA, etc.)
  • Experience with Smartphone testing (Windows Mobile, Android)
  • Experience with Automated test frame works
  • SQL - Data Manipulation Language (DML)
  • Experience with Virtualised Machines
  • ISTQB certified

Salary and benefits:

£23,000 - £30,000 | 25 days annual leave | Pension | Discretionary bonus
