A full-service digital agency with a difference that has been around since the noughties delivering high-end web projects and top-notch campaigns whilst scooping up plenty of awards along the way is on the hunt for its next Developer to work with its clients across the globe on their expanding product offering.

The agency has the pleasure of working with clients in the UK & US purely within the arts and culture space, meaning the clients you’d deal with are full to the brim with creative passion – and ideally, you’d be passionate about these areas too. Not the corporate or boring clients you may find in other agencies.

The agency is passionate about making a change in the world and currently working towards becoming B Corp certified, becoming carbon neutral along with other initiatives. They’re also just as passionate about their team’s well-being and continuous development, with an extremely high staff retention rate and a dedication towards personal growth. Each employee is scheduled several hours per week towards L&D with a budget also offered.

The Role:

Day-to-day duties will involve creating and maintaining efficient, scalable and robust Node.js-based systems. You will work closely with front-end developers, and other members of the team to turn their visions into working realities. Working across a range of micro-service applications.

You will be responsible for creating, testing and shipping high-quality and robust code to production. This will also include adding to and maintaining various API integrations, both internal and external, to allow us to implement consistent functionality quickly and concentrate on new features required for their customers.

Ideally, you will be a Developer who is familiar with the full lifecycle of a web-based project, from technical planning to working with frontend developers and of course building the applications. You should also have a few years of experience working within an Agile environment and an ability to multitask, meeting requirements across a range of projects.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with Node.js-based frameworks (ideally Nest.js or Nuxt.js)
  • A keen eye for detail, and experience working within a micro-services architecture.
  • Ambition to create world-class applications and ability to communicate with other teams within the business to help bring their ideas to life
  • A desire to learn and a willingness to bring your own ideas to the table
  • Experience writing modern javascript; modular code for use within new and existing code bases.
  • Understand the challenges of scalable architectures and the importance of efficient code.
  • Have a focus on performance and getting the most out of your code
  • Experience working with complex caching strategies

Beneficial but not essential:

  • Exposure to or experience with Go (Golang)
  • Any experience with PHP (Laravel) or other server-side languages
  • In-depth knowledge of design patterns and/or best practices
  • Knowledge of dev-ops/AWS features
  • Experience working with CI/CD processes (We use CircleCI)

Benefits:

  • True hybrid working with the opportunity to work wherever suits you best, as long as you’re in an appropriate time zone. You need to be able to pop into the Glasgow office now and then though.
  • Generous holidays and a focus on work-life balance.
  • Access to shares after required tenure.
  • You’ll be working with diverse clients across the world, providing opportunities to travel.
  • Investment in you! You’ll have a Personal Development Programme, tailored to your interests, to help you grow both professionally and personally.
  • They’re committed to their people; with CPD, training, conferences, volunteering and the opportunity to share in the agency's success as they grow, with a stake in the company.
  • They're partnered with MMB and Bupa to offer a comprehensive BUPA health insurance package.
  • The team enjoys an arts, culture, and book allowance every month to further their curiosity in their field.
