Nine Twenty Technology are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join a market leading organisation whose software delivers a hospitality management system which is utilised by some of the world’s top restaurants, alongside thousands of bars, clubs, and hotels across the world. This organisation has headquarters in the Glasgow, Scotland but also operate in Singapore, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

The role:

We're looking for an experienced engineer to join our growing infrastructure team.  This team is responsible for creating and managing all the infrastructure used to run and build our products/applications and also managing our monitoring systems. We are looking for someone who is passionate about setting standards and automating processes, works well within development teams, and writes clear documentation that development teams can follow. We currently have a mixture of applications deployed to legacy infrastructure like Azure Cloud Services, as well as .NET Core applications deployed to Kubernetes clusters. As part of the team you will support these systems, as well as working to migrate them safely to newer technologies. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Creating and maintaining Kubernetes clusters
  • Writing Terraform to provision infrastructure
  • managing SQL Server databases,and ensuring our logging and metrics systems are working correctly. Where possible, we try to ensure that our development teams are able to deploy and manage their own applications

 

Requirements:

  • Working with Cloud infrastructure. We use Azure, but experience with other providers such as AWS or GCP is also relevant.
  • Previous experience in a DevOps or SRE role, with a focus on tooling, automation and systems operation.
  • Using IaC automation tools such as Terraform.
  • Knowledge of containerised deployment and management using Docker and Kubernetes.
  •  Managing and using observability systems for logging, metrics and alerting.
  • Creating and maintaining CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
  • An understanding of common networking techniques like load balancing.
  • Working with highly available, scalable cloud solutions.
  • Experience of implementing cloud infrastructure security.

Desirable:

  • Experience of creating and managing Kubernetes clusters.
  • Comfortable working with both Windows Server and Linux systems.
  • Deploying to Azure Virtual Machine Scale Sets and Cloud Services.
  • Experience with the Grafana, Prometheus, Alertmanager stack.
  • Experience working with SQL Server.
  • Experience managing domains and DNS records.
