Nine Twenty are now recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer to work on a permanent basis in central Edinburgh. Your chance to work for a world leading software company where you will be partnering and managing the communication with internal stakeholders regarding business improvements on our clients internal existing business systems.

The Role:

You will be leading the analysis, design and development of our clients business systems, partnering with various team based Lean Leaders in the identification and delivery of key business improvement opportunities.

This position would suit a Senior Developer looking to take the next step in their career, as you will be working closely with key stakeholders whilst mentoring a small team of Software Developers.

This is still a hands on development role (SQl, C# and .Net) other responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with the business to design and implement continuous improvement
  • Understand the strategic direction of the business and pro-actively engage in collaborative discussions around business technology improvements
  • Act as the translator between the business need and the technology requirements, providing clear documentation
  • Attend and contribute to business system architectural discussions and design decisions
  • Lead, develop and manage some of the BI team ensuring BI team members achieve their maximum potential, through coaching
  • Support the definition of Business Improvement development standards and best practices in conjunction with the Head of Business Improvements

 

You must have:

  • Knowledge of Lean or equivalent Continuous Improvement Methodologies and Tools
  • In-depth understanding of business processes and how business data and processes run and integrate on different platforms
  • Sound knowledge of project management principles

Previous experience:

  • Line management or previous mentoring experience
  • Bachelors Degree in a computing related discipline
  • Microsoft stack
  • Programming experience of C# or .Net
  • SQL Server Data Warehouse
