Senior Manager; Digital Development – Edinburgh

Salary – up to £52k plus benefits.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring the implementation and development of the organisation’s ICT strategy, and will line manage those staff working in digital development roles. 

The primary responsibility will be the development and implementation of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system that will function across the organisation, and the alignment and upgrading of our server services in light of CRM and other new ICT developments.

Responsible for the effective line management and development of the following staff:

  • Digital Development Manager
  • Digital Development Manager (vacancy)
  • Digital Development Coordinator
  • Front End Developer (Fixed Term)
  • Digital Support Assistant

You will take responsibility for ensuring the implementation and development of the organisation’s ICT strategy.  This strategy plays a key role in the ongoing upgrading and improvement of the services provided. (The post-holder will review this strategy during the first six months in the role).

Ensure that all digital development projects are within budget and to deadline, providing leadership and direction to staff.

Manage all ICT services including:

  • The principal external ICT supplier contract
  • Ensuring that ICT projects delivered successfully and to deadline, and managed appropriately thereafter
  • The web-based infrastructure and content management packages
  • Managing relationships with third party suppliers who provide contracted services for the web applications and bespoke software

The Digital Development Manager will act as a technical specialist to the Communications, Digital Development and Human Resources departments. The role has three main components:

  • To work with the Senior Manager Digital Development and the Internal Digital Development Manager to manage and successfully implement the full range of digital projects undertaken as part of its approved ICT Strategy.
  • To work with staff and stakeholders to develop, implement and maintain a range of external-facing systems
  • To provide technical support in areas including html template mark-up, CSS and technical systems

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification (or extensive experience)
  • Professional or post-graduate qualification and/or evidence of relevant professional learning
  • A related post-graduate qualification, or relevant professional qualification(s) (desirable)

Experience and Knowledge

  • Significant experience at a senior managerial level in a digital development environment (experience of CRM systems is particularly sought after)
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (such as CIPR, PRCA, CIM, IDM)
  • A demonstrable understanding of current issues facing the digital sectors and clear ideas as to how these should be addressed
  • Experience of building effective relationships with external stakeholders and partners
  • Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams
