Nine Twenty are working with an IT Managed Service Provider in St. Helens, in the recruitment of an IT Senior Support Engineer. 

Role:  

This role will be a mixture of field and office based help desk work for our IT customers. As part of the role you will also be expected to make recommendations on solutions for customers and take an active role in configuration and deployment of kit. You may also be asked to get involved in wider converged solutions for Arrow. The majority of the role will involve providing technical support at differing levels to our customer base either on the phone or via a site visit. Providing excellent customer service is something that differentiates Arrow from other organisations and this must be something that you enjoy.

The role will be as a senior member of our technical IT team, the candidate must be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.  They will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external customers. The role could be filled by an experienced candidate or someone with the core technical skills willing to learn new technologies. Part of the role will involve mentoring the current team and improving their technical skills. 

Responsibilities:

  • Part of Senior engineering responsible for project delivery and escalations from core support 

  • Administering, deploying and configuring Microsoft Windows Server 2008 – 2019 including Active Directory and Group Policy creation 

  • Strong knowledge in O365 and Azure 

  • Strong knowledge of LAN / WAN hardware and router configurations 

  • Server Virtualisation Environments such as Microsoft Hyper-V / VMware 

  • A detailed knowledge of WatchGuard & Fortigate firewalls 

  • A detailed understanding of network switching architectures and configurations. 

  • An excellent understanding of network protocols, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP 

  • Provide technical support to our user base, both remotely or on-site as required  

  • Attending sites to assist in the implementation and installation of new systems, PC’s and other IT supplies including software  

  • Providing 3rd line telephone support for our client's products, both hardware and software

Qualifications:

  • Server Operating Systems including Server 2003, Server 2008 R2, 2012 and 2016, 2019 

  • Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 Active Directory 

  • HyperV Experience 

  • O365 administration, configuration, troubleshooting 

  • Sound understanding of Sharepoint permissions, config and troublshooting 

  • Server Hardware troubleshooting 

  • Windows desktop operating systems troubleshooting 

  • Firewalling (Watchguard & Fortigate) /VLAN Experience / router and connectivity troubleshooting 

  • WIFI (Full Cisco Meraki Stack preferred but not essential) 

  • Sound IP troubleshooting skills including DHCP, DNS, IP addressing 

  • Cisco CCNA 

  • MS Certification in O365 

  • MS Certifications in Server 

  • Proactive thinker
