Well if so, this job could be perfect for you.  Nine Twenty are supporting our Manufacturing client in their need for a Responsible Mechanical Engineer to join their team permanently.

Job Role:

To provide specialist support on all mechanical matters to Senior, Engineering Managers and Technicians across all sites including projects and the selection, installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain pipework and mechanical systems in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure managers and mechanical personnel have required competence to carry out their duties safely and within current legislation.
  • Provide technical advice on process, containment and mechanical Health and Safety matters and carry out risk assessments.
  • Provide quality project management from initial design to commissioning to comply with current legislation and company standards.
  • Manage own and report(s) to execute multiple projects
  • Set objectives and develop self and report with training and coaching to continually improve performance.
  • Liaise with Engineering and Operational Managers to agree project objectives and priorities and ensure Operational Managers are updated on project progress.
  • Select and instruct consultants with specialist knowledge for design and implementation of projects.
  • Provide technical support to Senior Managers, Operations Managers, Engineering Managers and Technicians.
  • Drive reduction in carbon through delivery of change and efficiency projects.
  • Lead or provide technical support to incident investigations and identify root cause and corrective actions.
  • Deal with Legislative bodies to ensure projects are implemented correctly and to the correct standards. Bodies include SEPA, HSE, SWA and local authority planning and building control.
  • Using knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation to deliver projects and ensure compliance to the correct cost, quality and timing requirements.
  • Mentor and develop graduate engineers
