Our client is a Global organisation on the outskirts of Glasgow and are seeking a forward thinking, pro-active Quality/Document Control Technician. This role is extensive and covers both the quality assurance and quality control aspects of the business and will require strong Technical and Administrative skills.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have input to and assist in developing and improving existing methods and procedures for quality assurance and control.
  • Works with Engineering and Change Analyst to create and update live documents and procedures, ie latest revs for engineering drawings, Assembly Guides (OMS).
  • Works Change Analyst Assigns and monitors document numbers, archiving as required.
  • Reviews documents and procedures for accuracy and completeness and adhere to current Corporate Standards. 
  • Assist, when applicable, in the introduction or updating of Corporate Quality Management processes relating to Document Control.
  • To Support and assist the Quality Engineering Manager with quality control and assurance, relating to all production operations, including system inspections, in line sub assembly inspections, incoming parts and any quality issues.
  • Supporting of Internal and Customer Quality incidents through the RCCA/8D processes and subsequent Corrective action Implementation, collection of relevant quality data, Improving Production Quality performance.
  • Oversee, and advise on adherence to existing quality and workmanship standards.
  • Perform electrical and/or mechanical inspection, of incoming or outgoing materials, determining conformance to applicable specifications as indicated by the designated procedures and product specifications.
  • Interface with production/engineering personnel concerning inspection results.
  • Maintain statistical quality control charts
  • Provide support on quality projects

The client is looking for someone who enjoys problem solving, who is organised and able to use reposting systems but equally someone who can work well with others. The key experience and qualifications needed for this role are: 

  • Degree qualified in a relevant scientific/engineering discipline would be beneficial
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings of complex mechanical or electrical components.
  • Ability to read testing instruments and record inspection results.
  • Ability to use mechanical or electrical inspection tools, instruments, and devices
