Are you a detail-driven Quality Inspector with experience in precision engineering, machine shop environment or similar? Do you thrive in fast-paced settings where accuracy and safety are critical?

Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are supporting our client – a highly respected, established engineering business based in Dumbarton – in the search for a Quality Inspector to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a busy, modern machining and fabrication environment supplying into key sectors including energy, renewables, and defence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspection of machined components using a range of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM etc.)
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure components meet customer requirements.
  • Carry out in-process, first-off, and final inspections of parts.
  • Record and report non-conformances, support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Liaise closely with machinists and production teams to maintain quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Support and maintain ISO9001 standards and internal QMS procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality control documentation.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a quality inspection role within a machine shop , precision engineering  or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of dimensional inspection techniques and tools.
  • Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings and geometric tolerancing.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances in a high-spec environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with quality documentation such as ISIRs, FAIRs, and NCRs is desirable.
