A newly created opportunity to join a well established manufacturing business who are going through a period of change and are now seeking someone to join their busy team to focus on improving quality across their production area and then move onto focusing on improvements across the business.
The ideal candidate will come from a quality background but be passionate about driving improvements through facilitating workshops, training and selling new ways of working at all levels of the business. This is a great role for someone who is ready to take the next step in their career as the client is looking for someone to develop into a senior role through time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the development of the Operations Improvement plan by using tools of quality to support a programme of continuous improvement;
- Oversee and develop Customer Returns feedback ensuring that root causes are identified, and corrective fixes put in place.
- Lead and develop a programme for updating of all SOP’s in Coating and Slitting to reflect a modern workplace.
- Benchmark existing 6 Sigma level and strive for improvement to a minimum of 1 level better than benchmark (e.g.3 to 4 sigma) utilising external agencies where practical.
- Develop a robust process to measure internal quality performance including Coating to Slitting, HRPR in real time and defective products in slitting.
- Establish a team to effectively measure quality performance in both Coating and Slitting
- Oversee Quality Systems and ISO registrations ensuring compliance at all times
- Proactively lead Customer Complaint forum and develop methodologies to fix recurring problems
- Oversee implementation of a new specification and process change system
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of business objectives that drive quality improvement.
