Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Operational Activities:

  • Day to day responsibility for quality control
  • Maintaining the quality management system
  • Take the lead in internal audit teams, as well as provide monthly KPI's/ Reports of laboratory performance to management, as well as highlight potential issues quickly and implement effective CAPA's if required
  • Support the laboratory staff with bulk and finished products testing, raw material testing, complaints testing, validation samples (i.e. process and cleaning validation samples etc.) in process QC, development & validation of analytical methods
  • To ensure that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained within the laboratory
  • Ensure safe disposal of laboratory chemicals

Qualifications/ Knowledge & Experience

Qualifications:

  • A Chemistry degree (or equivalent) and background is essential
  • Ability to produce high quality statistical analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including high quality report writing
  • ISO9001 internal auditing
  • Continuous Improvement skills - LEAN would be ideal
  • A commitment to improving quality

Specific Knowledge, Experience & Skills

  • Ability to manage, organise and motivate individuals
  • A combination of analytical, communication and reasoning skills to accurately and efficiently run a lab is a must
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be IT literate and be able to plan, create and implement relevant policies and procedures
  • Candidate must be able to make decisions and solve problems, have great interpersonal skills, and be organised and methodical
  • Be involved continuous programs / events as and when required
